Happy New Year!? It's the last day of February and we’ve probably come down from the high excitement and energy wave that the new year brought weeks ago. We've gone back to work, school, and our regular activities. Maybe, we’re already slacking off on our New Year resolutions, returning to where we started. This is a subtle encouragement to keep taking active steps to reach your goals and not slide into old unhealthy, or unproductive habits. It won’t be an easy or perfect journey, but if you stop trying, you’ll never know how far you can go. The beautiful thing about self-improvement is that you can realize on the 1st of January or in the middle of June that your life has got to change and begin making the necessary adjustments. Ask yourself:
I noticed that I’m less productive on days I wake up late or when I spend more than a few minutes on social media first thing in the morning before completing the major tasks for the day. So, a small change I’m trying to make is responding to a few important messages after my morning prayers, and getting on with my tasks. Oh! Waking up early too, my alarm rings by 5:30 am Sundays through Fridays (sometimes, I snooze till 6 ish though, hehe). External circumstances also exist - things beyond your direct control, but ultimately, you define how you respond to them. Your current struggles are real and perhaps painful. But, maybe they exist to strengthen your character and bring out the problem-solver in you. In any case, you'll limit yourself if you just accept the status quo. Ask yourself, what can I do about “so and so” problem? Research if you must, ask people more knowledgeable than you, and when you find an answer, go ahead and implement it. Keep testing solutions. Isn't that how you live a life of adventure? Make no excuses. Take responsibility for your life. Also, don’t beat yourself up on days you fall off. We all do. Just get up and get moving. Cheers to an amazing, productive, and fulfilling year!🥂 Until next time, Light & Increase. 🚀Speaking of no excuses. Brian Tracy's book “The Power of Self-Discipline” has been an eye-opener. Hi there! 2025 is gradually coming to a close, and it’s Thanksgiving season. Happy Thanksgiving!💃 In Nigeria, we usually celebrate Thanksgiving at church, an annual event where we thank God for the entire year. Every church chooses a specific Sunday, but it often falls in November or the first 2 weeks of December. In the spirit of giving thanks, I want to highlight a potential obstacle. When we reflect on our year, we tend to think of achievements in terms of monetary or status value. Did we...
Hi there, You know how they say comparison is the thief of joy? Well, don't we know it? When we look around us, we see many amazing people. Good-looking, hardworking, successful, even people you've known for years, and they suddenly seem to be on a different level than you. Feelings of inferiority may begin to seep in. You're not alone. It's a feeling most people experience at some point because we're human. That means we often crave the good things that others have. However, it's not...
Hi there, Let’s talk about how easy it is to talk. I know this from experience. You find something interesting and exciting, you can’t stop talking about it. You talk about the book you're going to read, a course you're going to take, a new skill you’re going to learn, a strategy you wish to implement. You even post about it on socials. But days turn into weeks, and weeks into months. You find something new and inspiring to talk about. However, you either haven’t acted on your previous plans...
