Breaking Free From Guilt

Hi Reader!

Have you ever felt guilty about something you did or didn’t do? I know I have. It's normal to feel guilty when you violate your own standards or convictions.

But when it lingers for weeks, days, and months, I liken it to the emotional equivalent of being stuck in a confined space without fresh air. You feel down, ashamed, embarrassed. You wonder what people might think of you if only they knew.

And for those who found you out, you wonder if they secretly judge you. (Well, they might.😂)

I learnt something interesting about guilt - that it persists because of pride. You can't imagine or accept that you made a mistake, so you keep beating yourself up and replaying your disappointment. You don’t open up because you don’t want to look bad, so you remain ‘stuck’.

The solution to guilt is humility, vulnerability, and accountability. (You might not always need the second).

  • Humility - recognizing that you're a human capable of making mistakes
  • Vulnerability - sharing your experience with someone or people you trust to give you the right counsel
  • Accountability - acknowledging the better alternative you didn’t take but will take subsequently

As a Christian, we receive salvation by humbly accepting that we need a Saviour, not by beating ourselves up or attempting to pay for our sins, but by accepting our inability to save ourselves and accepting Christ’s sacrifice.

We grow from our mistakes by renewing our minds - continuously changing our opinions on how to act in similar circumstances based on God’s word or the Bible, which gradually or instantaneously influences our behaviour.

So, let go of the confines of guilt, be gracious to yourself, but don’t forget to grow up!

Alright, that'll be all for now, until next Friday.

Light & Increase,

Osose Christabel.

Hi Reader! We officially entered the last quarter of 2026 yesterday. I don’t know about you, but my mind is in this reflective, planning phase where I’m thinking of all I can and want to achieve this year before 2027. And once again I land on the same thing: what’s the one thing I can control? My actions. I can’t exactly decide when I’ll cross certain milestones like becoming a millionaire even though it’s been my goal for 3 years now (Oh Goddddd!😭). But there’s something I can control - how...

Hi Reader! There’s a science to things and nothing is really random. If you want achieve certain kinds of results, you need to learn how to trigger such outcomes. Now, you might not know exactly when you’ll get the result but being an ardent student means that you are constantly learning and implementing your findings until you discover what works for you. This is a belief I now hold. It really doesn’t matter what your goal is. Whether it’s building a successful business, family or career,...

Hi Reader! Sometime last week, I was talking to a friend, and the conversation reminded me of how lonely sticking to a path can get, whether it’s starting a business, growing a brand, or making a healthy lifestyle change. When you start, you might be surrounded by seemingly enthusiastic folks who say they want the same thing, but as the path’s demands grow and its rewards delay, you’ll realize that your passions, convictions, and priorities are sometimes just yours. You might be the only one...
