Who Is Naturally Gifted?

Hi Reader!

I remember having secondary school classmates who knew how to draw so well. I mean, my drawing wasn’t so horrible, but it was far from great.

Even though it was for biology class, not art class, I bet they got extra points for their perfect skeleton diagram. Anyway, thanks be to God, I’m not pursuing, nor do I intend to pursue, a career in fine arts, amen?😂

But that experience and many others made me believe that people are naturally gifted at certain things - it just comes easily to them. And while that’s a thing (arguable), I’d have learned how to draw decently if I cared about it or felt like I needed (or wanted) that ability.

What really shows someone’s talent is that they relish spending so much time doing a thing they love until they become exceptional at it, and even then, they don’t stop.

Someone on Reddit described talent as passion, and I kinda agree. When you have a passion for something, you don’t mind investing hours in it to attain mastery because you enjoy the process.

So, when someone seems like a ‘natural’ at something, just know that they are passionate about that skill, kept practicing until they became better, and you can replicate that for skills that you want to adopt, whether it's public speaking, writing, negotiation, drawing, coding, etc.

Don’t write yourself off because you don’t seem like a ‘natural’ at something. You have the ability to learn, because even ‘naturals' have to train hard to become excellent, so what choice do you have?

Alright, that'll be all for now, until next Friday.

Light & Increase,

Osose Christabel.

Hi Reader! We officially entered the last quarter of 2026 yesterday. I don’t know about you, but my mind is in this reflective, planning phase where I’m thinking of all I can and want to achieve this year before 2027. And once again I land on the same thing: what’s the one thing I can control? My actions. I can’t exactly decide when I’ll cross certain milestones like becoming a millionaire even though it’s been my goal for 3 years now (Oh Goddddd!😭). But there’s something I can control - how...

Hi Reader! There’s a science to things and nothing is really random. If you want achieve certain kinds of results, you need to learn how to trigger such outcomes. Now, you might not know exactly when you’ll get the result but being an ardent student means that you are constantly learning and implementing your findings until you discover what works for you. This is a belief I now hold. It really doesn’t matter what your goal is. Whether it’s building a successful business, family or career,...

Hi Reader! Sometime last week, I was talking to a friend, and the conversation reminded me of how lonely sticking to a path can get, whether it’s starting a business, growing a brand, or making a healthy lifestyle change. When you start, you might be surrounded by seemingly enthusiastic folks who say they want the same thing, but as the path’s demands grow and its rewards delay, you’ll realize that your passions, convictions, and priorities are sometimes just yours. You might be the only one...
