Mix Work with Simple Joys

Hi Reader!

A close friend (who’s probably going to read this😉) and I had a brief conversation earlier this week.

She asked a content-related question, and afterward asked how work has been for me this week. I answered and asked how it has been going on her end. She responded and added, "So this is what we talk about now😂."

As we grow older, our priorities and the amount of work we need to actualize our dreams become glaring and take up a greater portion of our lives.

But I believe life should still be enjoyed even if responsibilities are on the rise, and one of my solutions is mixing it with little joys:

  • Playing some uplifting music
  • Striking up a conversation with a client/customer (I've learned some interesting things by just asking, "You have a unique accent, where are you from?")
  • Acknowledging and celebrating my little progress and milestones (I literally just take a few seconds to be like “thank you Lord for making me so smart😂” and do some funny movements or just ‘clock it’👌 to myself)

Find little moments to just smile and enjoy your day because the work never really ends.

Alright, that'll be all for now, until next Friday.

Light & Increase,

Osose Christabel.

Hi Reader! “Money isn’t everything!” When some people see or hear a comment like this, they have an argument ready. “But money buys you freedom, earns you respect, gives you this, gives you that,” and I'm like, hold on. I said it isn't everything. I didn't say it's nothing or that it’s not important. I want things/experiences that money can get too. I just don't believe it should be the sole, principal motivation of an adult human. A while ago, there were some comments or debates about "Olodo...

Hi Reader! Better late than never so here goes this week's piece that should've arrive yesterday.🙈 I remember receiving several teachings on "Time Management" in church conferences over the years. It makes more sense now why it was such a recurring topic. Time (at least on earth) is a limited currency and nothing makes this more obvious than navigating adulthood. If there's one thing becoming an adult does, it shows you how precious your 'limited' time is because it never seems to be enough...

Hi Reader! Have you ever felt guilty about something you did or didn’t do? I know I have. It's normal to feel guilty when you violate your own standards or convictions. But when it lingers for weeks, days, and months, I liken it to the emotional equivalent of being stuck in a confined space without fresh air. You feel down, ashamed, embarrassed. You wonder what people might think of you if only they knew. And for those who found you out, you wonder if they secretly judge you. (Well, they...
